Stretch out this weekend with yoga in Noosa

- 29-Apr-2016

Just relax … so easy to say, but sometimes it seems impossible to do. We’ve found plenty of ways to relax in Noosa – you could say we've made it our purpose in life! Between sunrise strolls on the beach, sunset cocktails and plenty of laidback activity in between, we’ve pretty much mastered the art of relaxation.

For the ultimate in relaxation, yoga in Noosa has it covered. We have it hot and steamy, we have it near the river, we have it on the beach, and we have yoga that comes to you  … we even have yoga on a stand-up paddle board!

Our friends at Metropolist Sunshine Coastrecently put together a round-up of some of the best yoga experiences in Noosa. Here’s a sample of what they found:

Bikram Yoga Noosa

For those who live for summer on the Coast, and love breathing thick, humid air, then Bikram Yoga Noosais your yoga match made in Zen. At Bikram Yoga in the Junction you’ll be prompted by teachers who have been taught by Bikram himself, so while we can’t promise it’s anywhere close to easy, at least you know you’ll be learning from some of the best. At a whopping 38-degrees Celsius and 40 per cent humidity you’ll be bending, stretching and pushing yourself further than you thought possible. If 90 minutes out of your day is too big of a chunk, try the 60-minute express class.
Where: 153 Cooyar Street, Noosa Junction

Yoga Circle

If turning off your stress switch and coming back to the present moment is a daily struggle that you want to get a grip on, then get your muddled head to Yoga Circle. Tucked just off Gympie Terrace, Yoga Circle is a place where you can reconnect to your body, mind and breath through a range of different yoga styles including Vinyasa and Iyengar. This riverside gem is also a fave among soon-to-be-mamas with their pregnancy yoga and birth prep classes.
Where: 8 Thomas Street, Noosaville

Noosa Yoga Centre

Some yoga studios are awesome but lack a flexible timetable to get a class in between that after-work cocktail and dinner or, a home-cooked brekkie and the weekend market run. Noosa Yoga Centre is NOT one of those. Offering over 10 classes each week, there’s no excuse for you not to fit in sun salutations between knocking things off your to-do list.
Where: 2/10 Sunshine Beach Road, Noosa Junction

Luxe Escapes Noosa

If you think you’ve tried it all, how about yoga on a stand-up paddle board among the Noosa River’s hidden waterways? Luxe Escapes Noosa makes the most of Noosa beautiful natural surrounds and takes you on a journey through hidden groves for a yoga or pilates session. Or join their Mindful Movement Fluro Fridays donation class on Noosa’s Main Beach every Friday, 6-6.30am with pilates and yoga, in conjunction with Fluro Fridays to support mental health issues. Decide how much you would like to donate to this not-for-profit class – and make sure you wear your best fluro!

Santushti Yoga

As if a traditional hatha-style yoga class isn’t enough to completely relax you, Santushti Yoga's classes are held both beachside or in an open-air boutique studio on Hastings Street – bliss! Whether you’re a beginner or already have experience with yoga, the combination of sun salutations, postures to keep your mind and body balanced, and deep relaxation techniques will take your relaxation to a whole new level.

If you’ve always wanted to try yoga but just can’t brave going to a class at home where you never know who you might run  into, a private session on holiday is the way to go. Balancenoosa will come to you, or you can join them in their Noosa Heads studio. They provide yoga mats, props and music to help you get the most from your session.
Where: 4/11 Sunshine Beach Road, Noosa Heads.
